Our surrogate screening process
We have a rigorous screening process in place, and surrogates must meet strict standards to join the program. Surrogates that meet our strict standards and requirements go through extensive psychological evaluations by a Manor Medical psychologist. Then, a member of our team performs a house visit to make sure that:
The surrogate is joining the program at her own will;
The surrogate has sufficient support from her partner and parents;
The surrogate and her family understand what surrogacy entails;
The surrogate's living conditions are clean and adequate;
The surrogate can take care of herself and others.
Less than 60% of applicants pass this step and go through our additional medical tests. Once the test results are available, a committee of 2 doctors chooses which donors will be allowed to be a surrogate in the Manor Medical program. An additional 25% of the applicants don't pass this final stage.
